Itinerary Summary

An 8-day Gujarat wildlife safari through Little Rann of Kutch, Velavadar Grasslands, and Gir National Park, featuring safaris to spot Asiatic Wild Ass, blackbuck, Asiatic lions, diverse birds, and other rare wildlife with comfortable lodge stays.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Ahmedabad
  • Arrival at Ahmedabad, meet and assist at the airport.
  • Check in at the hotel.
  • Afternoon city tour visiting:
  • Gandhi Ashram
  • Adalaj Stepwell
  • Hatheesing Jain Temple
  • Return to hotel for overnight stay.
  • Drive to Little Rann of Kutch.
  • Afternoon safari exploring the elevated “bets” of the Rann, home to:
  • Macqueen’s bustard, long-legged buzzard, Bonelli’s eagle, short-toed snake eagle.
  • Return to Lodge / Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
  • Enjoy two safaris in the sanctuary, home of the endangered Asiatic Wild Ass.
  • Possible wildlife sightings include:
  • Mammals: Nilgai, chinkara, desert & Indian foxes, wolf, jungle cat, hedgehogs, hare.
  • Birds: Crested & Sykes larks, Oriental skylark, greater short-toed lark, hoopoe lark, desert & variable wheatears, shrikes, sandgrouse, Indian courser, quails, buntings, raptors.
  • Sunset offers spectacular sightings of harriers, eagles, falcons.
  • Return to Lodge / Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
  • Drive to Velavadar National Park, check in at the lodge.
  • Afternoon safari in vast grasslands, wetlands
  • Dinner and overnight at lodge / Hotel.
  • Explore the park’s rich wildlife:
  • Mammals: Large population of blackbuck, wolves (rarely seen), jackals, jungle cat, hare, Indian fox.
  • Birds: Crested & Sykes larks, Oriental skylark, greater short-toed lark, hoopoe lark, desert & variable wheatears, shrikes, sandgrouse, Indian courser, quails, buntings, raptors.
  • Dinner and overnight at lodge / Hotel.
  • Drive to Gir National Park post-breakfast.
  • Check in at hotel and lunch.
  • Afternoon jeep safari in Gir, home to:
  • Asiatic Lions, leopards, sambar, chital, nilgai, wild boar, chinkara, and chousingha.
  • Dinner and overnight at lodge / Hotel.
  • Note: Gir National Park is open from October 16th to June 15th. Safari permit booking is 100% online and the online booking opens 90 days before the date of the safari. And permit subject to availability at the time of booking. Exclusive Safari only.
  • Mammals: Asiatic lion, leopard, sambar, chital, nilgai, chinkara, chousingha.
  • Birds: Brown fish owl, mottled wood owl, laggar falcon, white-bellied minivet, Asian paradise flycatcher, tawny-bellied & yellow-eyed babblers, rufous-fronted prinia, black-headed cuckooshrike.
  • Dinner and overnight at lodge / Hotel.
  • After breakfast, drive to Rajkot (Hirasar) Airport for onward flight.
  • All the national parks are open from October 16 to June 15
