Itinerary Summary

A 14-day cultural journey across Gujarat, beginning in Ahmedabad and exploring Muli’s weaving, Bhuj’s artisan villages, Gondal’s palaces, Palitana’s Jain temples, Vadodara’s royal legacy, Jambughoda’s tribal life, Santrampur’s heritage, and Balasinor’s fossil park, with immersive stays in heritage hotels / homes.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Ahmedabad International Airport and Half day visit.
  • Arrival assistance and transfer to hotel, later afternoon Half Day Ahmedabad visit, Gandhi Ashram, Huteehsingh Jain Temple, evening local market Law Garden to witness machine made mirror embroidery textiles & oxidized jewellery.
  • Overnight stay at a Heritage Hotel.
  • Morning Heritage walk (02 hours) of old city, begin from Kalupur Swaminarayan Temple and finished at Jama masjid. Visit Sidi Syed Mosque, Adalaj Stepwell Sarkhej ka Roza.
  • Overnight at a Heritage Hotel.
  • Drive to Muli enroute visit Wadhvan to see the making of the copper gadhas (normally used for storing water), are especially famous & walk through town passing through the Hawa Mahal.
  • Check into the Hotel
  • Later visit to see Tangalia weaving, Raataba Ni Vav a Stepwell, Swaminaryan temple which as beautiful wooden carving havelis and later on attend Aarti and back to Hotel.
  • Overnight at Ambika Niwas Palace - Muli
  • Drive to Bhuj via visit of then LLDC Museum which showcase the Kutch textiles / communities and Bhujodi village to see the Shawl weaving done by Vakar Community.
  • After Lunch Visit Aina Mahal Museum, and old city by walking.
  • Overnight stay at Heritage Home Stay / Hotel
  • Note: LLDC Museum remains closed on Mondays and public holidays. Aina Mahal Museum is closed on Thursdays and Public Holidays.
  • Full day excursion to the North side Banni villages to see different communities and their handicrafts work. Such as Rogan Art, Lacquer work, Leather work, copper bell making, Embroidery, mirror work, Tana Bana, etc. Visit the Dhordo White Desert (November to February. Visit depends if water as dried up).
  • Later drive to Bhuj.
  • Overnight at Bhuj - Heritage Home / Hotel.
  • In the morning, visit Ajrkahpur to see block printing done with natural dyes.
  • Later, drive to Gondal and visit the Naulakha Palace, the Royal Car Collection of Maharaja of Gondal. Swaminarayan Temple & if time permits have a stroll through local market.
  • Overnight stay at Gondal Palace.
  • Morning drive to Bhavnagar-Gir, en route to Junagadh city to visit Uperkot Fort, Buddhist Cave, Stepwells, Mahabat ka Makbara, and Ashoka Rock Edicts.
  • After visiting, drive to Bhavnagar and check in at the Hotel.
  • In the evening, if time permits, visit the Takhteshwar Temple and the Local market, overnight at Bhavnagar Nilamabag Palace.
  • Very early in the morning, at 05:30 AM, Drive to Palitana with a packed cold breakfast. Visit the beautiful 863 Jain Temple on Mt Shetrunjaya, and one has to climb 4000-foot steps to reach the Temple complex on the top (those who cannot climb up can take Doli / Palkhi, which is available on spot on a direct payment basis).
  • After visiting, drive to Dared Village. Explore the village on foot to witness various activities by villagers, including diamond polishing, local agriculture transport vehicle making, a visit to the Maldhari family house, and jaggery making.
  • Overnight at Darbargadh Dared - Dared
  • Note: Photography not allowed (inside/outside) at Palitana
  • Drive to Vadodara via a visit to Lothal, an Indus Valley civilisation site.
  • Check in at the Hotel.
  • Later, visit the Lakshmi Vilas Palace. Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III built the Palace in 1890, who ruled the Baroda State. Major Charles Mant was credited as the principal architect of the Palace, which is four times the size of Buckingham Palace. Visit the Fatehsinh Museum to see the Raja Ravi Verma paintings, among other attractions.
  • Overnight at Madhavbagh Heritage Home Stay.
  • Note: Lakshmi Vilas Palace and Fathesinh Museum closed on Monday and Public Holidays.
  • Drive to Jambughoda, check in at the Heritage Home Stay. Later, visit the Rathwa community and the Pithora Painting.
  • Overnight Jambughoda Heritage Home Stay, A Home for Nature lovers.
  • A morning drive to visit the Champaner Archaeological Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Juma Mosque, as well as other mosques accessible by walking, including Nagina Masjid, Kevadia Masjid, and also visit Helical Stepwell. After the visit, drive to Santrampur.
  • Overnight stay at Shri Joraver Vilas - Santrampur
  • After breakfast, stroll through the small town of Santrampur to see the ruins of the majestic Raj Mahal and the Hawa Mahal, as well as the remains of ancient Hindu temples dating back to the 11th to 14th centuries.
  • Overnight stay at Shri Joraver Vilas
  • Drive to Ahmedabad, en route to visit the Balasinor Dinosaur Fossil Park. Lunch at the Garden Palace of the Nawab Saheb of Balasinor’s (Optional).
  • After lunch, continue driving to Ahmedabad.
  • Overnight stay at Heritage Hotel.
  • Early morning departure for your home country.
  • Experience the interactions with the Royal family
  • Local cuisine cooking demo
  • A pleasant sundowner
  • 01 to 06 Pax can be accommodated as per above mention program as some heritage properties have limited room inventory.
